Our assignment was to describe Belisarius’ physical and psychological strengths in this painting. Belisarius was a great general for the Byzantine Empire, who was punished by the emperor.
Strength
by Wyatt Kriegel
This painting of Belisarius shows many physical and psychological strengths. One sign of a physical strength is him carrying a grown boy with one arm while not leaning on a stick. He has big muscles in his arms and legs. Both kinds of strength are shown by his straight back and the fact that he is still moving. A psychological strength is, though his guide is dying, he has a serious and calm expression. Extremely terrible things have happened to Belisarius but he is still not defeated physically or psychologically.
